A bride spends a lot of time and effort to look the most beautiful that she has ever, or will ever look on her special day. This is another reason why brides need a bridal purse. You should be careful, however, to make sure that the colors are either matching or complimentary. You don't want to wear a white wedding gown with ivory shoes and bridal purse because against the white the ivory will look dirty, and you don't want your bridal purse to stand out that way.

When this began to change was in the 18th century. Fashion took a big turn during this time with women's wear becoming slimmer and fitting closer to the body. Because of that there was no extra room for carrying a money pouch. Women then began to carry a handbag or purse, often woven or embroidered.

From this point evening purses and handbags continued to evolve. One of the early pioneers as far as handbags and purses goes was Louis Vuitton who introduced his trunk in 1854. The original one was made from waterproof canvas and iron and were meant for those who had plenty of money to spare. It was a sign of luxury and elegance and in 1896 the monogram canvas was introduced. This same look is the one people are so familiar with today when they think of Louis Vuitton. Even now carrying a piece from this designer is a sign of wealth, power, and prestige.

Other notable designers began popping up with their take on handbags and purses and suddenly the public could choose from Gucci, Hermes, and Prada. This is when the industry really took off in popularity.
